  Drained (Type C) Cavity Protection Systems
 
  Cavity Membrane
 
A cavity system which manages the passage of water around the structure, and complies with Type "C" construction to provide Grade 4 protection as detailed in BS8102:1990. Thickness of cavity membrane dependant on waterflow protection. Horizontal 10mm thick membrane manages 7 litres per metre per second - vertical 0.2 litres per metre per second. Horizontal 20mm thick membrane manages 12 litres per metre per second - vertical 0.45 litres per metre per second.
  • Can be used between outer brickwork and inner skin block work, under screeds and where applying a waterproof system externally is difficult.
  • Overlap by a minimum of 3 dimples (eggcups), using 50mm double sided tape (click here for codes and sizes)
  • Laps sealed with cavity membrane sealant.

  Cavity Membrane with Geotextile
 
An external drainage membrane with a geotextile filter which complies with the requirements of Type "C" design under BS8102. The geotextile is designed to allow water to pass and filter through the membrane system whilst keeping soil and other particles away from clogging the system.
